Words Have Power. Journal # 4

Nowdays, teenagers have a behavior that we don't understand because they speak in a different way; however, sometimes we don't realize that with words we hurt many people even if they are friends or family. We always say it is a joke, but we don´t know how our friend feels; words are a powerful weapon, and we can do other person feel less than others. Even though we are in class with our classmates and we get along, sometimes we can feel intimidated and afraid to make a mistake when we are saying something and they could laugh at that situation. In spite of the fact that we are humans, we must respect ourselves and think before speaking because we don't know who we can hurt with our words, no matter if is man or a woman. Sometimes we think if we have money or power, we can do anything we want, but things don't work that way. Nobody has the power to make us feel bad; it only happens if we allow their offenses to take power over us. This situation is difficult, but not impossible. We must trust and believe in ourselves; therefore, we must stay away from toxic people and surround ourselves with people who helps us and accept us as we are.

  1. People in general, teens and adults, don't think in what they are saying. We need to know how to say and express things because we sometimes just say whatever comes to our mind and don't think in the harm it cause. We have to be more careful and respectful
